Blog Post #2 Island Travel

I am choosing to write about the Bahamas I think everyone should come here to travel at least one in their life, how could you pass up there one of many beaches so called paradise island I see why it's called that with their beautiful white sand and crystal clear blue water that will sure take your breathe away. Another great reason to come is the weather it's beautiful all year long with the sunshine shining down it rarely ever gets to be below 60 degrees. Personally that would be a plus for me because it can be hard planning a trip sometimes with the whether affecting your plans. They have this carnival called " The Bahamas Junkanoo" It is the hub of bahamian culture It's one of the most popular events on the island they have nonstop live entertainment from the best musicians in the Bahamas. Also if that doesn't win you over they have snorkeling and scuba diving it is one of the worlds premier destinations I would easily go and give that a try. Another really interesting event that they have is that you can go to a island called Exuma Cay Island where you can physically swim with tiny pigs they have about 20-25 pigs freely roaming the island so you can get up close and personal with them they are all very friendly and let you go up to them I think that's crazy that a wild animal will allow you to swim with them. It's a one in a life time opportunity to experience with your loved ones a wonderful memory that you will remember forever. If you are looking for some of the Bahamas most authentic food I would suggest trying this dish called Conch Salad which is this acidic meal that is made with Conch Meat, chopped green peppers, onions, and tomatoes all tossed with fresh lime, lemon, and orange juice, now that sounds so refreshing to eat while enjoying your day out on the beach. Last but certainly not least if you are wanting to learn more about their culture and their music their most popular style of music is called 'Rake and Scrape' the Bahamians love it its classical folk music traditionally played in musicals or folk plays. I love hearing different styles of music and how some places make instruments like with the Junkanoo festival that I mentioned earlier they create drums out of goat skins and clanging cowbells together which is a very unique way of doing things which I find eye opening. That is only some great reasons as to why I think the Bahamas would be a awesome next family vacation.
