History and Politics of Curacao

I am writing about the history and politics for Curacao we all wanna know more about how history is made and with this page I hope that everyone can gain more knowledge about the beautiful Curacao I'm learning about it as well so with that said I looked up this article "thenewtropic.com" they state that the Dutch arrived in Curacao in 1634 that is the time that the Dutch did attack the Spaniards and they gained full control of the island. Which as today stands the island was granted autonomy from the Dutch government which means that, it is a self directing freedom with moral independence.

Some parts of Willemstad was actually built in 1634 the same time as when the Dutch decided to attack so that was a big year for the island of Curacao but moving on to when Willemstad being built it was just only the beginning of the construction to what is now a outstandingly beautiful waterfront area known as Punda with all the colors in the rainbow brightening up the entire street by the capital. Which I'm sure brought some light into the locals there given that they were attacked. The article also mentions that in 1997 the year I was born that the harbor that the waterfront rests on was designated a World Heritage City by UNESCO which means international peace and universal respect for all humans rights by promoting collaboration among nations which I know for a fact the Curacao locals are very proud of.

The "U.S. Consulate General in Curacao" states that the world has changed by the early 20th century that is when World War I found it's way to Europe but they slowly recovered from the trials of the war, but along with that an industrial revolution was in full swing in the Dutch Caribbean throughout the entire world. They also state that from 1918 and so on the oil refineries on Curacao and Aruba did play a key role in relations both between the islands and the united states. With that said the islands and Suriname were actually the only non occupied territories of the Kingdom of the Netherlands during the World War II. Curacao just so happens to be in the center of it all which is in fact important to the Allied powers. As stated above about the oil refineries in Curacao and Aruba they do provide just about 70% of the fuel that is being used by the Allied Forces, which by the way sounds like a crazy amount that is being used. Upon reading this article they say that the U.S. forces assumed from the British forces the defense of these two strategic islands apparently right on February 13-14 1942. They also state that two days later on the night of February 16th shockingly the German U-boats did attack the refineries as well as the oil tankers right in the waters surrounding Curacao and Aruba, which I'm sure left everyone wondering what they could do to make things better.
