I would say yes my blog does meet the criteria on the rubric and no because I meet the 300 word minimum but I know I haven't chunked my paragraphs and used MLA style formatting which I will do from now on.    Sometimes I struggle with writing an assignment on a blog and trying to make it interesting for people to read which I feel like what I write about is fine everyone is unique and will always write about a wide variety of things that's what makes everyone's blogs eye catching to me because you can learn new things from others.       Yes I am putting more effort into my assignments I have never wrote blogs as much as I am now so I feel like every time I post something I gradually get better with how I do my blogs.                                                                 I used to hold off on all my assignments but that only made me stressed because I had all of my assignments due the next day and I had to struggle and spend the whole day finishing all of them b

Blog post # 4 Getting to know your island: Curacao

Image
I chose to adopt the beautiful island of Curacao, as stated in "VCL","  Curacao began to industrialize in the 20th century with the discovery of oil reserves in Venezuela. The Royal Shell Oil Company chose Curacao to be its base of operations, and built refineries on the island in the 1910’s." they did extract wealth from Curacao through brutal means, which meant that when the Spanish people first went to the island they hosted about 15 Arawak Villages and it was home to roughly 2,000 inhabitants which now a days wouldn't be a lot of people but it was back then. Something that I found interesting while reading ''VCL" is that the most fascinating artifacts on Curacao is called the Mikve Israel- Emanuel Synagogue it is actually the oldest operating synagogue in the western hemisphere. That alone would make me wanna go this is one of the pictures from what it looks like on the outside it is completely breathtaking. Another great thing to know about tha

Caribbean History- Trinidad

Image
I am choosing to write about the beautiful Trinidad island it is located close to the continent of South America It's northeast of Venezuela and northwest of Guyana. By far Trinidad is the largest of the two main islands Tobago would be next. In "VCL" they state that " Trinidad has experienced a very rich past with a history marked by its various colonial occupants until its independence from Britain on August 31, 1962. It is actually the wealthiest country in the Caribbean as well as the third richest country by GDP(PPP) per capital in the America's after the United States and Canada. There wealth is attributed to it's large reserves and exploitation of oil and natural gas which I found pretty interesting. Trinidad was conquered by the Spanish in 1592 they continued under the Spanish rule until 1797 when they were captured by the British. "VCL" states, that they were colonized by the Spanish, British, French, Dutch, and Courlander (Latvia) that w

Blog Post #2 Island Travel

I am choosing to write about the Bahamas I think everyone should come here to travel at least one in their life, how could you pass up there one of many beaches so called paradise island I see why it's called that with their beautiful white sand and crystal clear blue water that will sure take your breathe away. Another great reason to come is the weather it's beautiful all year long with the sunshine shining down it rarely ever gets to be below 60 degrees. Personally that would be a plus for me because it can be hard planning a trip sometimes with the whether affecting your plans. They have this carnival called " The Bahamas Junkanoo" It is the hub of bahamian culture It's one of the most popular events on the island they have nonstop live entertainment from the best musicians in the Bahamas. Also if that doesn't win you over they have snorkeling and scuba diving it is one of the worlds premier destinations I would easily go and give that a try. Another real
